How to create a link that auto adds a free gift to cart/checkout?

This document is a guide on how you can create website links that can auto-apply discount codes to give a free gift (free gift auto add or free gift selection) to eligible customers in cart or checkout. These links can be added to your email/SMS or influencer marketing campaigns, etc.


Please note, checkout offers are only exclusive to subscriptions with Shopify Plus.


How to set it up?


  1. Go to the Monk app dashboard and click on Create Offer > Free Gift > Free gift via code or link (Auto-add or Selection)


  1. Under step 1 , you can choose the display method to be cart or checkout (Shopify plus exclusive). Under 'rules' section, select Show offer if : specific discount codes and enter discount codes (separated by comma) that you wish to be auto applied when a customer is eligible for the gift with purchase.


  1. This will create shareable links for the discount code(s)


  1. You can then copy this code and paste it on a tab, and it should auto add the offer upon adding the trigger product to cart.
